Bradford City sign defender Aden Baldwin on two-year deal
Bradford City have announced the signing of central defender Aden Baldwin on an initial two-year contract. Baldwin, 26, joins the Bantams after leaving Notts County.
Baldwin, who began his professional career at Forest Green Rovers, moved to Bristol City in 2016.
He gained experience through loan spells at Weston-super-Mare, Cheltenham Town, and Eastleigh, before spending the 2021/22 season with MK Dons.
In June 2022, Baldwin signed with Notts County, where he made 79 appearances over two seasons.
His performance in the National League Play-Off Semi-Final, scoring twice in a 3-2 win over Boreham Wood, was instrumental in securing County’s place in the final, where they triumphed over Chesterfield on penalties to return to League Two.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Baldwin said, “I am delighted to get the deal done. I have had a few really good conversations with the gaffer, and am buzzing to be here.”
He added, “I am a mobile centre-back and I also like to play with the ball at my feet, out from the back. I like to play in front of big crowds and lots of fans, so hopefully that allows me to play my best game. I missed the opportunity to play here last year, so am really looking forward to doing it for this club.”
City boss Graham Alexander shared his enthusiasm for the new signing, stating, “I am excited about bringing a player of Aden's talent on board. He has excellent defensive attributes and his quality in possession will bring another dimension to our attacking play.”
Alexander also highlighted Baldwin’s experience with promotion, saying, “He is another player with promotion experience. I am delighted he decided to join our quest for success, and am sure his teammates and our supporters will appreciate what he will add to our club.”
Baldwin's contract with Bradford City extends until the summer of 2026.
