League Preview: Treaty United -v- Longford Town

TREATY UNITED

Treaty United host Longford Town at the Markets Field on Friday evening in a bid to kickstart their season (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Shannonsiders are without a win since March 1st and are one of the two teams who have lost to basement side Longford this term.

They slumped to a 2-1 loss against the Red and Black just a fortnight ago at Bishopsgate after taking a first-half lead through Lee Devitt.

But since then, they are unbeaten in two games and claimed a spirited point away to Cork City last weekend.

However, they are likely to be without Yoyo Mahdy, Enda Curran and Oisin O’Reilly again.

LONGFORD TOWN

Longford Town boss Wayne Groves will take charge of the Red and Black for the first time as permanent manager on Friday night.

Groves impressed in the dugout during his interim spell in charge of first-team affairs following the departure of Stephen Henderson last month.

And the Dubliner has overseen the club’s first two wins of the season – against Kerry and Treaty United.

But he heads into his first game as permanent manager without a host of first-team players available to him.

Chris Lyons, Viktor Serdeniuk and Dean George are all expected to miss out.

Referee: Lucas Keating.
