Shelbourne teenager Finn Sherlock to join German side Hoffenheim

Shelbourne have confirmed that Finn Sherlock will leave the club to join TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in Germany next month.

Sherlock is an Ireland underage international and has been capped at under-15 and under-17 level by the Boys in Green.

In a statement, the Reds said: "The club recognises the positive contribution Finn has made since joining Shelbourne  and we were eager for Finn to continue his journey with us.

"However, he has made the decision to advance his career with Hoffenheim, competing in the A-Junioren Bundesliga next season.

"We fully respect Finn’s decision and extend our heartfelt gratitude for his dedication during his time at Shelbourne FC. We wish him every success in his new adventure with Hoffenheim."

And Sherlock added: "The support and development I’ve received here have been incredible, and I’ve learned so much about the game.

"The club has given me a fantastic football education, and I am deeply grateful for all the opportunities and experiences.

"I’ll always appreciate my time here and look forward to carrying these lessons with me to Germany."
