Bray Wanderers unveil interim management team after Ian Ryan departs
First Division Bray Wanderers have appointed Lorcan Fitzgerald and Paul Heffernan as the club’s interim management team following Ian Ryan’s departure on Wednesday morning.
Ryan had been in charge of the Seagulls for 15 months after leaving Wexford at the end of the 2022 season.
But the ex-UCD assistant manager resigned in his role on Wednesday – with the club issuing the following statement.
“Bray Wanderers FC announce that Ian Ryan has decided to resign as Head Coach with immediate effect,” it read. “The club have accepted his resignation and wish Ian the best for the future.
“There will be no further comment from the club at this time.”
And on Thursday, the club confirmed that Fitzgerald and Heffernan will step into the role vacated by Ryan.
“Following Ian Ryan’s resignation, first-team coaches Lorcan Fitzgerald and Paul Heffernan will take charge of team affairs,” it read in their match preview ahead of their trip to Wexford on Friday.
Bray face James Keddy’s side at Ferrycarrig Park looking to close the gap on the top-five – which they are four points off.
Kick-off in the South-East is at 7.45pm on Friday evening.
