The Republic of Ireland women’s team will play their Euro 2025 qualifier in July against France in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The GAA’s central council has given permission for the match to be played in the Cork venue, where previously the Liam Miller tribute match took place between legend teams from Manchester United and Celtic in September 2018.

The other two home qualifiers for Eileen Gleeson’s side had previously been confirmed for the Aviva Stadium but Lansdowne Road is unavailable for the home game against France set for 16 July.

Pitch renovations post P!NK’s double header of concerts and Taylor Swift’s three nights of ‘The Eras Tour’ in late June in the Aviva mean the Dublin venue cannot be used for the French tie.

That date in July would clash with a Shamrock Rovers’ Champions League first qualifying round match should the Hoops be drawn at home for the second leg of their opening tie in Europe (due for 16 or 17 July). The draw for that tie takes place on 18 June – less than four weeks from the France home game.

Rovers’ licence arrangement with the stadium owner South Dublin County Council notes that Hoops games between February and November ‘are to be treated first in order of priority when the council considers the staging of or licensing other events of whatever nature at the stadium grounds’.

Before the game with France is a double header against Sweden. First up is the home game at the Aviva Stadium on Friday May 31st ahead of the Girls in Green travelling away to take on the same opponent on Tuesday June 4th in the Friends Arena in Stockholm.

Ireland will travel to take on England in Carrow Road on Friday July 12th and will finish their qualifiers against France on the banks of the River Lee.

The Republic of Ireland lost their opening games in the group – 1-0 away to Hervé Renard's French side and 2-0 against England in the Aviva Stadium.
