League Preview: Drogheda United -v- Galway United
DROGHEDA UNITED
Drogheda United host Galway United at Weavers Park on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
Kevin Doherty's side are headed into this game following a 1-1 draw away to Shelbourne last weekend and they were unlucky not to have claimed all three points.
Frantz Pierrot gave Drogheda an early lead but Sean Boyd levelled matters in the second-half for the Reds.
But they will be pleased that they picked up a point on the road against the league leaders.
In terms of team news ahead of the game against Galway, captain Gary Deegan returns from suspension, as does goalkeeper Jethren Barr.
But there are injury doubts to both Aaron McNally and Andrew Quinn.
GALWAY UNITED
Galway United welcome boss John Caulfield back to the dugout this weekend after serving a touchline ban.
The former Cork City manager was handed a further ban after being found to have been in breach of his prior suspension.
And he returns following a draw against Sligo Rovers last weekend.
But they are expecting a tough test against Drogheda.
“It’s much more difficult up there,” assistant manager Ollie Horgan told Galway Bay FM last weekend. “It’s a tighter pitch and they are a very experienced side.
“It will be a serious battle that we have to be up for to get anything out of…”
