Keaney to serve suspension as red card appeal fails
Drogheda United will be without Jack Keaney for their away game against St. Patrick’s Athletic this Friday due to suspension.
Keaney received a red card in the 4-0 loss to Shamrock Rovers on Monday in Tallaght and his club appealed the sending off by referee Rob Hennessy for a foul on Johnny Kenny.
However, his appeal has been dismissed and he will now miss Friday’s match in Richmond Park.
‘An Independent Appeal Committee of the FAI has rejected Drogheda United’s FC’s appeal for wrongful dismissal following Jack Keaney’s red card for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity in Drogheda United FC’s SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division fixture versus Shamrock Rovers FC on 29 April 2024.
In accordance with the FAI Disciplinary Regulations, Jack Keaney will serve a one-match suspension.’
