Week 9

Credit:

The games are coming thick and fast these days and most teams are finding themselves playing twice a week. There are surprisingly few injuries given all the games, but come this time next week some teams may be down to the bare bones and punters may be able to take advantage of getting early team news from Extratime.

As I've previously said it looks like anyone can beat anyone else in this league and the last unbeaten record is now gone. Indeed, league leaders Pat's only defeat was at home to Drogheda.

For tonight's games it again looks hard to pick a winner. If you include their Setanta Cup games Sligo have lost 3 games on the spin while Shamrock Rovers are on a run which has lifted them towards the top. They're probably worth backing to continue that run, especially with Gary Twigg finding some form again.

The other bet that appeals is to have a punt on under 1.5 goals in UCD v Drogheda. UCD have failed to score in their last five league matches, while Drogheda are struggling at the back but after having been beaten 3-0 on the opening day they'll know what to expect and will be trying to keep things tight.

Punter's Picks:
Shamrock Rovers to beat Sligo - 3/10 @ 5/6
Under 1.5 goals in UCD v Drogheda - 2/10 @ 13/8
