Longford Town part ways with boss Stephen Henderson
First Division strugglers Longford Town have parted ways with boss Stephen Henderson after a dismal start to the season.
Henderson's final act in charge at Bishopsgate saw him oversee a 3-0 loss at home to Bray Wanderers.
The Red and Black have now picked up just three points from their first fixtures of the season. They are also winless having lost five and drawn three games.
Assistant manager Gavin Peers and first-team coach Wayne Groves have been placed in interim charge as the club begin their hunt for a successor.
"The club has tonight parted ways with Manager Stephen Henderson," a statement on Saturday night read.
"The club would like to express our gratitude to Stephen for his dedicated efforts during his time with the club.
"Gavin Peers and Wayne Groves will take charge of the first team on an interim basis.
"The club will be making no further comment at this time."
