TG4 announce plans to broadcast 12 Women's Premier Division games this year
TG4 have announced an extension to their coverage of the Women’s Premier Division this season.
The Irish language television channel will show live coverage of the league for the fourth consecutive season beginning with this Saturday’s match between Athlone Town and Peamount United (kick-off 7.35pm).
“TG4 is delighted to broadcast coverage of the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division for the fourth season running. This live, free-to-air television coverage strengthens TG4’s commitment to women in sport and will be available to viewers far and wide,” TG4’s Head of Sport Rónán Ó Coisdealbha said.
The three other games confirmed for live coverage so far are the Munster Derby between Cork City and Treaty United will be shown live on Saturday, 4 May, the game between Shamrock Rovers and Galway United on Saturday, 25 May and DLR Waves v Bohemians on Saturday 29 June.
The station will broadcast another eight games throughout the season with TG4 already confirming that they would broadcast the final of the All-Island Cup this summer.
