Shelbourne fans barred from attending next away fixture
The League of Ireland have announced the Independent Disciplinary Committee’s decision to ban Shelbourne supporters from attending their next away fixture.
That means that no Reds fans are permitted to attend their fixture against Galway United at Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday, 19 April.
The decision comes after a match official was struck with a pyrotechnic during Shelbourne’s Premier Division game away to Drogheda United on Friday, 5 April.
In a statement today the league said: “The League of Ireland and FAI would like to remind supporters of the dangers of pyrotechnics usage and the throwing of missiles inside stadia, which is strictly prohibited at all League of Ireland fixtures.
“The League of Ireland and FAI are committed to providing a safe environment for players, officials, staff and spectators at all our fixtures and this can be ensured with the assistance of supporters abiding by these stadium regulations.”
