Hatswell beaming after latest win
Wayne Hatswell could barely hide his grin when he spoke to Extratime after firing Dundalk to a 1-0 win over Premier Division champions Bohemians.
The Swindon native has been a regular threat from set-pieces this season, but had to wait until the final game in the opening series of games to find the back of the net.
Hatswell, who doubles up as veteran defender and assistant manager, was clearly delighted to get his first goal in the Airtricity League as it proved to be the difference between the teams.
"It's a nice feeling to score especially when it's a winner as well," Hatswell told Extratime.
"I've been saying for few weeks that I've been overdue one. It's nice to get on the score sheet and it was an important one so it’s even better."
Hatswell cheekily took credit for the stamina shown by the team by suggesting the training sessions that he ran whilst Ian Foster was away at the start of the season are now paying off.
"Yeah it was the fitness regime I put the players on when he [Foster] was in England in pre season," he said.
"The boys have been excellent and it's a pleasure to work with them, obviously I'm part of the team as well so it’s a bit different for me. The lads have been buzzing since Day One, they want to keep hold of it now, they want to keep working hard and hopefully it will stay that way.
"We've got a couple of games coming up now that we can look forward to, but it don't stop here, we've got to put it to bed now, those three points, and look ahead."
