BOHEMIANS

Waterford man Alan Reynolds insists he will have no divided loyalties on Friday night when he manages Bohemians against his hometown club at Dalymount Park.

The new Gypsies boss was most recently assistant to former Bohs boss Keith Long at the RSC before taking over the reins in Dublin 7.

And after claiming his first win as manager last weekend against Galway United, Reynolds is all set for his first home game in charge of Bohemians.

“We both have a job to do and it is important that we do everything we can to push on now and get the win, and I’ve no doubt Keith will be saying the same,” Reynolds said.

“But it will be a big moment for Keith coming back to Dalymount too, and I hope he gets the good reception he deserves here. He speaks very fondly of the club and has a lot of good memories from his time here.

“For me, I’m managing Bohemians in Dalymount for the first time against my hometown club, which is exciting and something I am relishing personally, even if there might be a few divided loyalties in the family!”

Martin Miller and Bart Kukulowvicz come back into contention, while Filip Piszczek is rated doubtful.

But Bohs will be without Adam McDonnell and Dylan Connolly as well as long-term absentees Keith Buckley and Rob Cornwall.

WATERFORD

Waterford will be without Cameron Cresswell and Barray Baggley for their trip to Dalymount Park on Friday night.

Cresswell is nursing a thigh injury while Baggley is feeling the effects of a back issue.

“There’s obviously a bit of a back story to it now with myself and Rennie going head to head and me going back to my old club,” Long told LOI TV last weekend after Waterford’s 2-1 loss at home to Shamrock Rovers.

“But ultimately none of that matters. It’s all about performing and getting a team ready for a game against a good side.

“Dalymount is a great place to play in and we have got to feed off that. Hopefully we can bring a big away crowd and perform.”
