Olympic runners up Sweden have selected their squad for their two upcoming EURO 2025 qualifiers against France and England in April.

The match against England will be played at Wembley on April 5, and the home meeting with France will then be played at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg on April 9.

They will then play two matches against the Girls in Green with Eileen Gleeson’s side hosting Sweden at the Aviva Stadium on Friday May 31st ahead of travelling away to take on the same opponent on Tuesday, June 4th – venue yet to be confirmed.

Ireland played Sweden in the World Cup qualifiers – gaining a creditable draw in Gothenburg.

Manager Peter Gerhardsson has been able to recall Fridolina Rolfö, Magdalena Eriksson and Elin Rubinson following their recent injuries. Speaking to svenskfotboll.se he said: “It is of course nice that both Fridolina and Magdalena can be called up again after their injuries.

"Together with Elin Rubensson, who was selected last time but could not play, they were three important players for us during the World Cup last year - so of course it feels good to be able to have the trio ready for games in the squad.”

Sweden went on to finish third in that World Cup, beating one of the co-hosts Australia 2-0 in the third place match.

In February they beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 10-0 on aggreate in their Nations League relegation play-off. Winning 5-0 home and away meant they remained in League A.

Four of the squad (Jennifer Falk, Anna Anvegård, Rusul Rosa Kafaji, Josefine Rybrink ) were part of the Häcken team who lost to PSG this week in the Champions League quarter-final.

Barcelona player Fridolina Rolfö will be taking on three of her teammates in the Champions League semi-final in April with keeper Zecira Musovic, Nathalie Björn and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd all lining out for Chelsea.

Finally Irish skipper Katie McCabe will play against her Arsenal teammate Stina Blackstenius. Arsenal are taking on Chelsea on Sunday in the League Cup final.
