Pitch inspection due to take place in Wexford ahead of Friday night
The League of Ireland has announced that a pitch inspection will take place in Ferrycarrig Park ahead of Wexford’s First Division clash against Finn Harps.
The pitch will be inspected at 7.45am on Friday morning after recent heavy rainfall, with the game scheduled for tomorrow evening.
Wexford have yet to play a game at their home stadium this season, two of their fixtures have already been postponed, although the club's Women's Premier Division side did get their campaign underway at Ferrycarrig last weekend.
The pitch was declared unplayable for the visit of Longford Town, which was due to take place on Friday, 23 February. That fixture will now take place on Tuesday, 16 April.
Wexford’s home fixture against Cobh Ramblers was then one of four games to be postponed just seven days later on Friday, 1 March. This fixture was also rescheduled and will now take place on Monday, 20 May.
It tomorrow night’s game doesn’t go ahead the next opportunity Wexford will have to host a First Division fixture will be on Monday, 1 April when they are due to host Cork City.
