League Preview: Finn Harps -v- Cobh Ramblers
FINN HARPS
Finn Harps boss Darren Murphy hopes his side can rise to the challenge Cobh Ramblers will pose to them on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Co Donegal men have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season and sit inside the play-off positions on seven points from a possible nine.
But boss Murphy knows that Cobh will pose a serious test of side’s early season credentials.
“It’ll be a difficult one,” he explained. “We had some very difficult games against Cobh last year.
“One of the games here we were leading 2-0 and were brought back to 2-2 and were very lucky to get away with a point so we know this will be tough.
“We know that and we will make the players aware of that.
“From my point of view I hope the players can give a good account of themselves and leave everything out there like they have done in the previous three games of the season.
“It has been a very pleasing start here at Finn Park this season with a draw and a win. It’s magnificent to have the support that we have at present.”
Aaron McLaughlin, Ryan Rainey and Kevin Jordan remain out for Harps, while Conor Tourish is a doubt.
COBH RAMBLERS
Gary Hunt’s Cobh Ramblers will be searching for their first win of the season when they travel to the North West to face Finn Harps.
The East Cork outfit slumped to a disappointing 3-1 loss against Treaty United on the opening night of the season.
But a draw in their second game of the campaign saw them fight back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 against Athlone Town.
And that result is likely to give them a newfound confidence about their prospects this term.
Their tie against Wexford was postponed last weekend due to a waterlogged pitch at Ferrycarrig Park, so they have not played since last month.
Referee: Oliver Moran.
