FAI Cup winner Grant joins Galway United

Galway United have announced the signing of Lucy-Jayne Grant ahead of the new Women’s Premier Division season.

Grant joins the Tribeswomen from Athlone Town with the defender part of last year’s FAI Women’s Cup winning squad.

“I’m delighted to join Galway United. I was looking for a new challenge after last year and after seeing what Phil and the team did last year in the All-Island Cup, it was really impressive and I can’t wait to get started here.”

Grant joined Athlone Town from Cavan Shamrocks in 2019 and won the under 19 National Tier 2 Championship in 2022.

She made her senior debut in 2021 and made 37 appearances for Athlone Town across all competitions.
