LSL Senior Sunday round-up: Lucan United regain top spot as Malahide United edge thriller with Liffey Wanderers
Lucan United regained top spot thanks to a narrow 2-1 victory over Crumlin United on Sunday.
Jamie Doyle and Sean Quinn - both formerly of League of Ireland backgrounds - netted for Lucan, with Jake Walker scoring for Crumlin.
Walker was most recently on the books of Bray Wanderers in last season’s First Division.
But the win was important for Lucan who moved a point clear of St Mochta’s with a game in hand.
And the pressure was on the leaders after St Mochta’s defeated Kilbarrack United on Friday evening.
Defender Sean Heaney and striker Gareth McCaffrey both scored for Brian McCarthy’s men - either side of a strike from Kilbarrack’s Ryan Fitzsimons.
The goals from last nights 2-1 win away to Kilbarrack United.

But most of the entertainment was had at Gannon Park as Malahide United edged an eight-goal thriller with Liffey Wanderers.
Kevin Craven’s side recorded a 5-3 success over Wanderers thanks to goals from Garreth Craven, Dylan Cashin, Yuri Castro, Alan O’Sullivan and Ciaran McGahan.
Liffey Wanderers netted through Liam Donnelly, Adam Deegan and Stanislav Karavanets.

Crucially, the result means that Malahide United could go second in the table if they win all their games in hand over leaders Lucan United.
Malahide are seven points behind with two games in hand.
Meanwhile, Maynooth University Town came from 2-0 behind to salvage a 2-2 draw with relegation threatened Home Farm.
Striker Rob Manley scored a brace for the visitors at the NUI Maynooth Astro before Alex Fitzgibbon and ex-Wexford FC youngster Aaron Doran scored for Shane Harte’s side.

Goals from Dragos Mamaliga and Nathan Benson propelled the Bell up to sixth place.
Elsewhere, Bangor Celtic debutant Dan Beya scored from the spot to see John Scott’s men claim a 1-0 victory over Tolka Rovers.
