Emmanuel Adegboyega scores on debut for Walsall

The 20-year-old scored for Walsall in his first match for the club on Saturday afternoon.

Emmanuel Adegboyega came on at half time for the Saddlers against Mansfield after an injury to make his Football League debut.

The defender made the move to England after signing for Norwich last summer but failed to make a league appearance for the club since arriving in East Anglia.

Last month, the former Drogheda United player went out on loan to Walsall in search of first team action and has made an immediate impact at his new club.

In the second half, Adegboyega raised highest in the box to head home an Isaac Hutchinson’s cross to make it 2-1 to the Saddlers. The Irishman’s goal turned out the winner.

Walsall are linked with Premier Division side Drogheda United after Walsall owners Trivela Group acquired the club last year.

Next up for the League Two side is Morecambe on Tuesday night.
