St Patrick’s Athletic travel to the Carlisle Grounds on Tuesday evening to face a bottom of the table Bray Wanderers side still looking for their first victory of the season. (kick off 7.45pm)
Bray Wanderers will be at full strength for the visit of St. Patricks Athletic to the Carlisle Grounds on Tuesday night, As Saint Patricks Athletic will be looking to get back on top of the Airtricity League after being leap-frogged during last weekend’s action as they were playing in the Setanta Cup.
Jake Kelly, Shane O'Neill, James Kavanagh and veteran Colm Tresson who were all ruled out of the win over Drogheda Utd on Monday night in the E.A. Cup 1st round with injury have all been declared fit and return to Eddie Gormley's squad for the game.
Eddie Gormley said he was pleased with the performance on Monday night against Drogheda Utd.
"We played well and I was delighted with the win and what we need to do now is take it on from here against St. Pats”, Gormley said. "It will be a tough game, they are a very good side with a number of ex Bray players in their squad. We need to go into the game with the right attitude and push for a result".
St. Pats will look to continue their fine start to the season. Three wins, three draws and just one defeat leave them just three points off the top of the table. They have scored eight goals and conceded just two so far.
Stuart Byrne took a knock in his back in the return leg against Sligo on Saturday evening is a doubt while Ian Bermingham is back in selection following a hamstring strain.
Despite lying bottom of the league without a win, St. Pats defender Connor Kenna, is taking nothing for granted.
“Bray had a good result in the League Cup against Drogheda recently at the start of the season they were unlucky in the way they had to put a team together and they’ve been unlucky in some of their matches. They’ve a young team, and they’ll be up for giving us a battle”, Kenna Said.
Saints’ players Conor Sinnott, Derek Pender, Gareth Coughlan, Dave Mulcahy, Gary Rogers and Paul Byrne have all had spells with the seaside club and will relish the opportunity of returning to their old home. Brian Cash returns to the side after missing the Setanta Cup semi-final as he was ineligible.
