The midfielder scored the winner for his new club against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

The Republic of Ireland U-21 international signed for QPR on deadline day. Despite making the breakthrough at Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, he has struggled for game time this campaign under Gary O'Neil.

Hodge was one of the many Irish players who needed to get a move in the latest transfer window in search of first team action.

The Irishman came on in the 59th minute for his debut, and QPR quickley raced into a two-goal lead. After taking the lead thanks to an own goal by Rovers keeper Aynsley Pears, Hodge and fellow Irishman Sinclair Armstrong linked up as Armstrong slipped in Hodge who slotted home to make it 2-0 to the away side.

Despite Blackburn pulling a goal back, the visitors held on as Hodge’s QPR secured a huge three points in the race against the drop.

Elsewhere, Hodge’s international teammate Troy Parrott was on the scoresheet once again in the Eredivisie on Friday night.
