The Republic of Ireland international scored twice as Preston defeated Ipswich at Deepdale

The striker scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season as The Lilywhites ran out 3-2 winners against the promotion chasing Tractor Boys.

Keane opened the scoring in the first half when his deflected shot beat Václav Hladký in the visitor’s goal to make it 1-0.

Keane got his second of the game and Preston’s third when Ipswich got caught playing out from the back, Preston pressed to win the ball back and Keane was on hand as his low strike beat the keeper to make to 3-0.

Ipswich pulled two goals back to make it an edgy end of the game for the Preston faithful, but the Lancashire outfit did enough to hang on for the three points.

Irish international’s Alan Browne and Robbie Brady featured for Preston, Greg Cunningham was an unused sub, while Marcus Harness came on as a substitute for Ipswich.

Elsewhere, Keane’s international teammate Troy Parrott was on the scoresheet once again in the Eredivisie on Friday night.
