Barnsley welcome Irish midfielder Conor Grant on loan from MK Dons
Barnsley have added to its midfield by securing Conor Grant on loan from MK Dons until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer.
The 22-year-old, who was named MK Dons’ Young Player of the Season, brings a blend of youth and talent to Oakwell for the 23/24 campaign.
Grant's arrival marks the third signing of the transfer window for Barnsley, as the club looks to strengthen its squad.
Having represented the Republic of Ireland at youth levels, Grant is set to immediately integrate into the team.
Bobby Hassell, Barnsley's Interim Director of Football, expressed confidence in Grant's abilities: “Conor will add different qualities to our attacking midfield options. He’s played regularly in the EFL for both Rochdale and MK Dons, and we’ve been monitoring him closely."
In discussions about his move, Grant shared his enthusiasm for the new challenge.
"I'm really happy. After talking with the manager, I felt this was something I wanted to be a part of."
Grant is eager to make an impact.
"I like to get on the ball and link play from defence to attack, and hopefully, I can chip in with some goals and assists," he said, outlining his approach to the game.
