Daniel Babb signs for Ipswich Town
The deal was announced on Friday that the defender had signed for the Suffolk side.
The 18-year-old made 10 appearances in the Premier Division last season as The Students finished rock bottom and were relegated back to the First Division.
Babb joined UCD U-15s in 2021 from their partner club Mount Merrion and progressed through the U-17s into the senior side in 2023.
The young defender has been capped at international level for the Republic of Ireland U-17s and U-19s.
UCD announced the deal on social media on Friday. The statement said the following:
“Daniel is a shining example of the development pathway both at UCD and through our partnership with the UCD Academy. Special mention also to Daniel's school (St. Michael’s College) who helped Daniel to continue his education while excelling in his football journey so far.
“Everyone at the club wishes Daniel all the best in the next phase of his career”.
