Cian Hayes returns to Rochdale on six-month loan
The 20-year-old Irish forward signs back for second spell at National League team Rochdale.
Fleetwood have allowed Hayes to return to the Crown Oil Arena for the remainder of the 23/24 season.
In his first loan, Hayes became a fan favourite with the Dale faithful. He scored twice in nine appearances for the club, making a significant impact on the team.
Hayes has seen minimal game time since returning to Fleetwood, and the move to Rochdale will ensure regular minutes for the young striker.
Speaking on the deal for Hayes, Rochdale Head Coach Jim McNulty said: "It felt like a loss when he returned to Fleetwood.
“He was in a good vein of form and really enjoying his football here. His first loan was exactly what he needed, and he produced exactly what we wanted as well.
“He’s one that we’ve obviously monitored since he returned, and at the moment he became available, we were always looking to make that a possibility again.”
The Dale fans will have to wait before seeing Hayes in action again, as he is still recovering from a slight injury sustained with Fleetwood.
Also on deadline day, Bradford City secure the signing of Calum Kavanagh from Middlesbrough.
