Burnley welcome Maxime Estève on loan as CJ Egan-Riley heads to PSV Eindhoven
Burnley have confirmed the loan signing of French Under-21 defender Maxime Estève from Montpellier until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old centre-back, a product of Montpellier’s academy, has made over 50 appearances for the club in the past two and a half seasons.
Upon signing, Estève shared his excitement, saying, “I feel very good, I’m really happy and ever since I first heard about the move I wanted to move here. I have followed the Premier League since being a young child and had only pictured myself ever being here, so I am really excited.”
Estève, who joined Montpellier as a young player in 2011, also commented on the influence of manager Vincent Kompany.
“The manager spoke really positively about the project here and I just wanted to be a part of it straight away.”
In another move by Burnley, the club has confirmed that 21-year-old defender CJ Egan-Riley has been loaned to Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven until the end of the season.
Egan-Riley, who joined Burnley from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, had previously been on loan at Hibernian for the second half of his first season.
