Birmingham City seal Alex Pritchard transfer from Sunderland
Birmingham City have completed the signing of midfielder Alex Pritchard from Sunderland on the final day of the winter transfer window.
Pritchard, who is 30 years old, has signed a contract for two-and-a-half years with Birmingham City.
The move marks a reunion for Pritchard with Tony Mowbray, under whom he previously played at Sunderland.
Pritchard brings a wealth of experience from the Championship, where he has made 188 appearances.
His performance in the 2014/15 season earned him a spot in the Championship's PFA Team of the Year while on loan at Brentford.
Pritchard expressed his contentment about the transfer on BluesTV, stating, “I am happy. My future has been well speculated for a while now and I am just glad to get everything done and settled, and, hopefully, I can just crack on with football.”
His journey in football began at Tottenham Hotspur, progressing from the Under-18s to training with the first team.
Pritchard's professional debut was with Peterborough United in 2013, followed by a significant spell at Swindon Town and a Premier League loan to West Bromwich Albion.
He later joined Norwich City and Huddersfield Town before moving to Sunderland in July 2021.
