Dundalk sign Scottish forward Jamie Gullan
The Lilywhites confirmed the signature of the striker from Scottish Second Division side Raith Rovers on Tuesday.
As reported by extratime.com last week, Dundalk had confirmed they had agreed a deal for the Scottish striker.
The 24-year-old has spent the entirety of his footballing life in Scotland having started his professional career with Hibernian FC in 2017, where he spent 5 years at the club.
The striker spent most of his time with Hibs out on loan, with spells at Gala Fairydean Rovers, Queens Park, followed by a three-year loan stint with Fife's Rath Rovers that started in 2019, before signing a permanent deal with the club in 2022.
Additions in the striking department was needed for Dundalk with Daniel Kelly and in particular, Pat Hoban leaving the club this transfer window.
Hoban, who spent a total of eight years at Oriel Park over two spells, scoring over 150 goals has left a huge hole for Dundalk to fill this transfer window after his departure from the club to sign for league rivals Derry City.
Head coach Stephen O’Donnell defended the sale, saying it was in the best interest for both parties.
The Galwegian has left big boots to fill for the new frontman, who’s strike record to date is not stellar with just 15 goals in 87 appearances in Scottish football.
Gullan and his new teammates kick off their league campaign with a visit to Tallaght Stadium to face 2023 league winners Shamrock Rovers.
