Swindon Town sign former Irish U21 International Zach Elbouzedi
Swindon Town have signed AIK forward Zack Elbouzedi on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has struggled for game time this season in the Swedish top flight featuring only 7 times.
The Irishman has scored three goals in 62 appearances for the AIK.
He started his professional career with Inverness Caledonian Thistle after spending three years of his youth career with West Brom between 2014 and 2017.
After a successful spell with Inverness, where he won the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2017–18, Elbouzedi joined League of Ireland side Waterford.
The forward scored six times in 29 appearances for the club, before earning a move to League One side Lincoln City in 2019, before moving on to Bolton Wanderers where he was part of the squad that earned promotion in 2021.
The Dubliner was also an important clog in Stephen Kenny’s Ireland Under-21 team including representing Ireland at the Toulon Tournament in 2019.
He scored three goals in 13 games for the Irish Under-21 side.
Elbouzedi joins fellow Irishman Dawson Devoy who joined The Robins earlier this month.
They are currently 14th in League Two and face Graham Coughlan’s Newport County on Saturday, who battled bravely against Manchester United last weekend in the FA Cup.
