Fenlon focuses on defensive problems
Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon described his sides 3-2 defeat at home to
Galway United on Friday night as simply “not good enough”.
Speaking to Extratime after Friday night's defeat Fenlon said: “I'm disappointed. We didn't perform well enough to win the game and in fairness to Galway they deserved to win it.
“It's not good enough. We've obviously got a problem defending our goal and that's something we've got to work hard on to stop teams scoring.”
The Bohs boss admitted he believes this isn't just a blip the league champions are facing but a problem which they face regarding defending. Bohs have kept just two clean sheets in their seven league games.
“What's happening to us at the moment is that we're conceding goals, we're giving teams something to hang onto and encouragement, we've got to stop that,” insisted Fenlon.
Bohs now face the second leg of their Setanta Sports Cup semi-final away to Linfield on Monday night, with The Gypsies leading 2-1 from the first leg.
“It's going to be a tough game, it's a hard place to go and win. We're a goal up but we're going to have to play a lot better than we did tonight if we're to get anything out of it.
“Looking at it at this stage we've probably only got 15 fit players for the Setanta Cup game so Gary Burke and Stephen Traynor will probably come into the team,” said the Bohs boss.
