Callum Lang joins Portsmouth from Wigan Athletic
Porstmouth have announced the signing of forward Callum Lang from League One rivals Wigan Athletic.
The 25-year-old forward has committed to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the option for an additional year.
Blues boss John Mousinho expressed his excitement about the new signing.
“Callum is a versatile player, comfortable in any position across the front line,” he said.
Mousinho highlighted Lang's proven track record, including a promotion with Wigan, adding, “He brings goals, creativity, and experience to our squad, and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
Lang, a product of the Wigan academy which he joined at 14 after being with Liverpool as a child, made his senior debut in 2017 in an EFL Cup victory over Blackpool, under former Pompey manager Paul Cook.
His journey includes loan spells at Morecambe, Oldham, Shrewsbury, and Motherwell in the Scottish top-flight, gaining valuable experience.
A key figure in Wigan’s League One title-winning campaign, Lang scored 18 times in all competitions during that season.
In total, Lang scored 31 goals in 143 appearances for Wigan.
