Mayo FC secure Umbro deal for stadium rights.
Mayo FC are set to unveil Umbro Ireland as official sponsors of the budding League of Ireland club’s ground in Milebush Park, Castlebar.
As reported by the Connaught Telegraph, the strategic partnership, includes a potential shirt sponsorship, and is poised to surpass the financial benchmarks set by the previous sponsor, Solar 21.
The Mayo Football League announced last June as reported by extratime.com, it’s intention to field a League of Ireland club from this season with a senior men's team set to take part in the League of Ireland as early as 2026.
The upcoming season will see the club field teams in several categories including boys Under-14, 15, and women’s under 17.
Speaking on the ground-breaking agreement a statement from Umbro reads, "Our agreement with the Mayo Football League for the naming rights to Milebush Park will run for an initial three years.
We are delighted with this partnership and look forward to collaborating with all involved to support grassroots football initiatives.”
The Castlebar Venue will for the duration of the agreement be known as Umbro Park Milebush and will need significant improvements to be ready for League of Ireland football.
This will include home and away ends, appropriate floodlighting, increased capacity, and toilet facilities.
