Sporting Fingal -v- Dundalk
Dundalk will look to move clear at the top of the Airticity League
Premier Division with a win away against Sporting Fingal (kick-off
7.45pm).
The Ravens have also had an excellent start to the season, only losing once so far in seven matches, leaving them fifth in the table. Fingal could only draw 0-0 with Galway United in Terryland Park last week.
Meanwhile, The Lilywhites lie first after an impressive 3-0 win last week against UCD.
The two sides met four times in 2008, with Dundalk winning twice and the other two finishing as draws.
Sporting Fingal manager Liam Buckley says that it is “with fondness I recall the pair of meetings we had against Dundalk at Morton Stadium during our maiden season in the First Division and, having brought a decent amount number of fans for those games, I’d be expecting them as co-leaders to be well supported for what should be a terrific encounter.
“We’ve drawn our last three Airtricity League matches and apart from the most recent against Galway United last Friday, the performances were pleasing.
Two big Dublin derby games in four days over the Easter weekend against St. Patrick’s Athletic and Shamrock Rovers were demanding and we felt unfortunate not to have won both.”
