Bradford City welcome back Irish International Tyreik Wright on loan from Plymouth Argyle
Bradford City have announced the return of winger Tyreik Wright on loan from Plymouth Argyle for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
The 22-year-old, a Republic of Ireland under-21 international, previously had a productive stint with Bradford City last term, scoring four goals in 17 appearances before being recalled by Aston Villa and subsequently making a permanent move to Plymouth Argyle.
Wright expressed his excitement about rejoining Bradford City.
“I am absolutely buzzing. I know what it is like to be here, and it was a no-brainer for me to come back," he said.
Reflecting on his previous departure, Wright added, “I feel like I let people down a little bit with the way I left last January, so am here to repay everyone."
Setting ambitious goals for his return, Wright is aiming for a strong finish to the season.
“I am looking to get double figures in goals between now and the end of the season and help the club climb back up the table,” he stated.
Manager Graham Alexander welcomed Wright's return.
“His work rate, pace and goal threat will be very valuable to us, giving us an extra dimension to our attacking options," Alexander remarked.
Wright, who is from Ovens, County Cork, joined Aston Villa from Irish youth side Lakewood Athletic, has a rich history of loans at League Two clubs.
He has represented the Republic of Ireland at various youth levels.
Assigned squad number 38, Wright's return is subject to relevant EFL and FA clearances.
