LSL Senior Sunday round-up: Maynooth University Town defeat Lucan United as Bluebell get back to winning ways
Maynooth University Town turned in a stirring performance to condemn Lucan United to just their second defeat of the season.
The Town, who enjoyed a scintillating FAI Cup run in 2021, were full value for their 3-1 win over Lucan.
And they relied on former Longford Town pair Callum Warfield and Paddy O’Sullivan to fire them to the three points.
The two strikers combined for the Co Kildare men in devastating fashion at the NUI Maynooth Astro - with Evan Murphy also getting in on the act.
Jamie Doyle, formerly of Shelbourne, Bohemians, UCD and Longford Town - scored a consolation for United.

Lucan dropped back to second following their shock loss but still have two games in hand on title rivals St Mochta’s.
Meanwhile, Bluebell United returned to winning ways in the league with a 2-0 victory over Home Farm at Whitehall Stadium.
Home Farm, boosted by the recent arrivals of brothers Rob and Joe Manley, were edged out by the Bell to remain bottom of the table.
Former Wexford and Cabinteely defender Jay Nwanze opened the scoring for Mick McLoughlin’s side before Joshua Ojelabi doubled their advantage soon after.
Bluebell rose to ninth after their success on the road.
Elsewhere, St Francis were pegged back at the death as Tolka Rovers salvaged a point with a 2-2 draw at Frank Cooke Park.
Francis looked to be on course to win after a double from Darragh Murphy set them on their way.
But Dean Paget’s opener kept Tolka Rovers in it, and Aaron Townley struck late on to secure a draw.
