Former Longford Town and Drogheda United defender Daniel O’Reilly joins Partick Thistle
Daniel O’Reilly has completed a move from Raith Rovers to Partick Thistle in the Scottish Championship.
The former Longford Town and Drogheda United centre-back penned a deal with the Jags until May 2025 after a short-term stint at Raith.
Prior to that, he was on the books of Hamilton Academical last year.
“As a team who aim to score as many goals as we can, Daniel adds quality in both boxes, having already scored against us this season, and twice last season,” Partick Thistle boss Kris Doolan said.
“It has been a busy month already for us with plenty of comings and goings, as well as two matches. Daniel adds strength to our defensive options as we head into a tough run of fixtures.”
When lining out in the League of Ireland, O’Reilly played for Bray Wanderers, Longford, Shelbourne and Drogheda before joining Hamilton in 2021.
The Kildare native, 28, made over 50 appearances for the Accies in the Scottish second-tier.
And he now joins Partick Thistle who are seeking promotion back to the top-flight in Scotland.
They currently sit third in the table and are seven points off leaders Dundee United.
O’Reilly made his debut for Doolan’s side in their 1-1 draw against Greenock Morton on Saturday.
Partick Thistle are thrilled to confirm the signing of Daniel O’Reilly, subject to Scottish FA approval.
