Harrogate Town welcomes back James Belshaw and extends Jonathan Mitchell's contract
Harrogate Town have officially announced the permanent signing of 33-year-old goalkeeper James Belshaw from Bristol Rovers, following his successful loan spells.
Belshaw, who has previously made over 190 appearances for the club, has signed an 18-month deal.
Belshaw expressed his enthusiasm about rejoining Harrogate Town.
“I have some unbelievable memories at this football club from my first time here," he said.
"I am absolutely buzzing to be back."
Manager Simon Weaver also commented on the signing, stating, “I am delighted to get this deal for Belly over the line. He has returned a better player than he was in his first spell."
Additionally, Harrogate Town has extended the contract of 29-year-old goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell until the end of the season.
Mitchell joined the club in November to provide cover following an injury to Mark Oxley.
Reflecting on his extended stay, Mitchell remarked, “I am delighted to now have a deal until the end of the season. I’ve been welcomed with open arms since joining the club."
Weaver praised Mitchell's commitment, saying, “We have been really impressed by the attitude and application which Mitch has shown while he has been with us."
