Arsenal signs US international Fox
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of United States international defender Emily Fox on a permanent transfer.
The 25-year-old right-back joins Arsenal following her time with North Carolina Courage in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), where she made 19 appearances since January 2023.
Before her stint with North Carolina Courage, Fox played for Racing Louisville and represented the North Carolina Tar Heels at the college level.
She made her senior debut for the United States national team in 2018 and has since earned 39 caps.
Fox was part of the squads that won the CONCACAF Women’s Championship in 2022 and the SheBelieves Cup in 2022 and 2023.
She also played in all four matches for the USA at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Speaking to www.arsenal.com, Emily shared her excitement, “It feels amazing to have signed here...When I think of Arsenal, I think of excellence, a global organisation, family, and pushing the standards of football, especially in the women's game. It's a huge honour to represent this club, and I'm excited to get started and play in front of our supporters.”
Jonas Eidevall, Arsenal's head coach, expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing, “We’re delighted to bring Emily to Arsenal...Emily has shown impressive development over recent seasons and her strengths in both phases will make her an important addition to our squad. Her international experience gives her an excellent foundation to transition to English football.”
Emily Fox will wear the number 2 jersey at Arsenal.
