Ireland's Katie McCabe features in EA Sports FC's Team of the Year nominations
EA SPORTS FC™ have unveiled the nominees for the highly anticipated Team of the Year (TOTY) awards, showcasing over 140 of the most exceptional men’s and women's football players from 2023.
For the first time in TOTY history, the awards will include a Women’s Team of The Year XI, providing a platform to honor the prowess of female players in the sport.
The women’s category shines a spotlight on notable talent, including Ireland's own Katie McCabe, Chelsea's striker Sam Kerr, Atlético de Madrid’s midfielder Leicy Santos, and Olympique Lyonnais’ Selma Bacha.
The men’s nominees are equally prestigious, with EA SPORTS FC 24 cover star Erling Haaland and Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min among the top picks.
Fans have the opportunity to influence these prestigious awards by voting, which commenced on January 8 at 8am PST / 4pm GMT / 5pm CET.
Votes can be submitted here for men’s TOTY XI and here for women’s TOTY XI, with the voting period closing on January 14.
The final TOTY selections are set to be announced on January 19 for EA SPORTS FC 24 and January 25 for the EA SPORTS FC Mobile game.
In addition, CBS Sports’ UEFA Champions League Today studio team, featuring Kate Abdo, Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards, and guest analyst Alex Scott, hosted a Kickoff Show to deliberate over the TOTY XI selections.
The debates and expert picks for the men’s TOTY XI can be viewed here, the women’s TOTY XI here, and the special segment 'Jude vs Micah' here.
