Bohemians offer 'full support' to James Talbot as keeper steps back from football
Bohemians goalkeeper James Talbot will step away from football to have the time and space to deal with mental health issues.
Talbot has been a mainstay for Bohs since joining ahead of the 2019 season.
And the former Sunderland youth has also received a number of call-ups to the Irish senior men’s team during that timeframe.
He was an ever-present for the Gypsies last season but will be taking a break - with the club backing his decision.
“Bohemian FC player James Talbot will be absent from team duties in the coming weeks, and perhaps beyond,” a statement from the Dublin 7 club read.
"James is facing mental health challenges, known by the club for some time, and is taking time to properly address these.
"James is receiving full support from Bohemian FC and remains a key figure at our club, both as a player and as a person.
"He is now receiving the professional assistance required and we will be working with him towards a full recovery."
