Duffy signs for Dergview

Damian Duffy has exited Finn Harps and signed for NIFL Championship side Dergview FC.

The Gleneely native made his debut senior appearance for Harps, making 12 appearances for the side in the first Division.

The central midfielder scored his first senior goal away to Longford Town in June, where he sealed a 3-2 victory for the Harps.

Finn Harps head coach Darren Murphy told Harps media: “Damian and I had a conversation over the offseason and we felt at this stage in his career that he needs to be playing regular first-team football. I’ve had a good chat with Emmet Friars, the Dergview manager who I’ve known a long time and Emmet was very keen to get Damian in the door to fight his way into the team

We have an agreement in place for Damian to go to Dergview now and hopefully he can get that first team experience that is vital for the stage he is at in his development. The door is by no means closed for Damian and he knows that. We’ve had a good conversation, I think he’s a great kid with a fantastic attitude and willingness to learn. I’d like to wish him the very best with the move.”
