Shamrock Rovers continue to shape their Women’s Premier Division squad for 2024 with the confirmation of the return of both Jessica Hennessy and Maria Reynolds to Tallaght for the upcoming campaign.
Earlier in the week the club announced securing the services of Áine O’Gorman, Joy Ralph, Stephanie Zambra, Jaime Thompson and Lauren Kelly while Jess Gargan and Alannah McEvoy have departed the club.
Hennessy was the club’s players of the year last season, was a towering presence at the back for Rovers.
The 22-year-old make 25 appearances in all competitions, playing predominantly alongside Shauna Fox in a back four for Collie O’Neill’s team.
The former Athlone Town player said on shamrockrovers.ie: “Since joining Rovers last season, I have been made feel so welcome by everyone and I feel like I have really improved as a player. I was really impressed with the coaching, facilities and the professional setup within the club.”

Reynolds return
Maria Reynolds is set for her sixth year at the club. The 19-year-old player returned from long-term injury in October making three late season league appearances with Rovers’ senior team.
“Anyone who knows me knows how much I love this club,” said Reynolds. “I’ve had a tough year out with a long-term injury but all of that is behind me now and I’m really excited to get back playing and representing this club again.”
Head Coach Collie O’Neill said: ”Maria’s journey over the past year has been a testament to her strength and character. Despite facing several setbacks, she maintained a strong commitment to her recovery, showcasing the kind of mental attitude we value in our squad, and her box-to-box style of plays adds a dynamic element to our team.”
