NIFL Premier Intermediate side Warrenpoint Town have announced the signing of Aaron Corish from Shamrock Rovers.

Corish joins the Point after a year with Rovers where he picked up the under 19 league title and Enda McGill Cup as a member of the Hoops under 19s.

“I played here in pre-season and loved the set-up. I knew since then that I’d be interested in joining the club. After a conversation with Giller it was a no-brainer, really,” he said, speaking to the club’s media team.

“The ambition for the club going forward is, of course, to work for promotion and get the club back where it belongs. Everyone has been so welcoming ever since I came through the door. It’s been a great environment to come into. I just can’t wait to get started now.”

Corish will be playing under former Dundalk boss John Gill who took the reins on an interim basis this month.

Of his new signing, the Warrenpoint boss said: “Aaron is a young, hungry player who brings a great work ethic into the squad. Since coming into training Aaron has continued to work hard and impress the lads.

“His demeanour and attitude around the club have been excellent, so I know that Aaron will be given a warm welcome at Milltown. We’re all looking forward to seeing what he brings over the next few months.”
