Waterford native Jack Larkin has returned to St Colman’s Park as another one of new manager Gary Hunt’s signings ahead of the 2024 league season.

Larkin previously joined the Rams in January 2022 and went on to make 18 appearances for them before departing for the USA on a sports scholarship.

In July 2022 and took the opportunity to further his studies while continuing to play soccer for MSU Mustangs in the USA (Midwestern State University).

The 23-year-old versatile midfielder enjoyed a very successful spell on Stateside, picking up numerous honours at an individual level during his 18-month spell there.

He has also played for Wexford and Waterford during his career.

His younger brother Dean Larkin incidentally was also on loan at Ramblers in the latter half of the 2023 season but he has now returned to Waterford for the upcoming season.

Hunt was enthusiastic about the return of Larkin to the Rams and he told the club’s website: “Bringing Jack back to the club was an easy decision for me because I know Jack and what he will bring to the team.

“I’ve seen how he played previously and he’s since gone to the States and completed his education while playing full time football.

“He can only be seen as an exciting prospect for the club. Jack’s work ethic is one of the main factors that makes him stand out and adding the quality to that, I am sure his return to the Rams will be a successful one.”
