Katie Lovely commits to another season with Bohs
21-year-old Katie Lovely has re-signed with Bohemians, committing to another season in Phibsborough.
The defender has been with the Gypsies since their inaugural season, starting with the U17s in 2018 and progressing through the ranks to the first ladies' team.
Earning her reputation in Dalymount as a fan favourite in Dalymount Park, Lovely spoke with Bohs media and said : "I had a really good chat with Ken Kiernan when he came in as manager, and I think they are really exciting things happening here this season. Hopefully we can go and have a good season.
"Ken is really positive. We are looking forward to building on the foundations that are here already, and we are really looking forward to it.
"Its a huge privilege to play for Bohs. There is a great group of girls here, a great staff behind us and great facilities. I'm really enjoying it here every year.
"Personally, I want to score more goals next season and get more assists as a group, we want to be looking at getting to a cup final and moving higher in the league."
Bohemians manager Ken Kiernan also spoke highly of Lovely: "Katie is a player who I have watched in admiration before coming to Bohemians. Having come through the academy here, she will be central to the team's plans this season.
"Her incredible attitude has already made her a fan and volunteer favorite. She has incredible athleticism and is brilliant at exploiting space with forward runs, and is also able to receive the ball anywhere under pressure and find a solution.
"Katie is highly ambitious, and myself and the coaching staff are really excited to be working with her this season."
