Harps and Sligo to stage ethnic friendlies

Finn Harps and Sligo Rovers are delighted to announce that they are jointly staging two ethnic friendlies which are to played in both The Showgrounds and Finn Park. Both games will see Finn Harps taking on Sligo Rovers with both sides comprised of members from the local immigrant communities. The first game is due to take place on Saturday May 10th in The Showgrounds (kick-off tbc) with the return game set for Monday May 19th in Finn Park.(kick-off tbc)

Both clubs have been working closely with local immigrant organisations to ensure that these games are as inclusive as possible and reflective of the local immigrant community. These days are to be multi-cultural events with ethnic food displays and ethnic culture displays. Both Finn Harps and Sligo Rovers are determined to ensure that everyone whatever their background is welcome to their matches with both clubs firm advocates of the UEFA 10 point plan on racism.
