Ireland underage international Brennan joins Bohemians
16-year-old Aoibhe Brennan joins Bohemians following her exit from Dublin rivals Shelbourne FC.
The Clonee native arrives at Dalymount park off the back of a stellar season with Shels under 17 securing league and cup doubles with a personal tally of 20 goals to her name throughout the campaign.
Brennan spoke to the club’s website saying: “It is a big privilege to sign for Bohs at my age. It’s a new challenge for me, and hopefully I can take the opportunity with both hands.”
Having previously worked with Gypsy’s manager Ken Kiernan in Shelbourne’s academy, the under 17 international said: “Ken is a brilliant coach, has high standards and high ambitions for this season. I’ve met a few of the girls today, they have all been really welcoming, and I am really looking forward to getting started.”
Manager Kiernan said: “Aoibhe is a highly technical player with a brilliant range of passing.
“She is excellent from a dead-ball situation and scored 20 goals from centre midfield this season.
“She is a versatile central midfielder with brilliant football intelligence. She is one of the best young players in the country, and I can’t wait to see the impact she will have on the team.”
