Lennox departs Rovers for loan deal at Wexford for the 2024 season
Wexford FC have confirmed the signing of 19- year- old Carl Lennox who will join the club on loan from Shamrock Rover for the 2024 season.
Lennox, who is a centre back, is from Naas and joined the Rovers under 11 team back in 2015 and played with then at all age groups up to under 19.
He also got a taste of European football when he played for Rovers in both legs of a UEFA Youth League competition against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar YL in September 2022.
He made his senior debut for Rovers when being introduced as a substitute in an SSE Airtricity League game against UCD in Tallaght Stadium in October 2022.
He did not see any first team action in the 2023 season although he was on the bench twice, away to Dundalk in June and at home to Cork City in August.
He joins up with another Shamrock Rovers loanee, Cian Curtis, at Ferrycarrig Park as manager James Keddy prepares his squad for their opening First Division league fixture away to Athlone Town on Friday, 16 February.
