Sean O'Connell re-signs for Kerry
Kerry have announced the re-signing of Sean O’Connell ahead of the 2024 League of Ireland season.
The 19 year old is an academy graduate at the club and the defender made over 20 appearances for Kerry during their inaugural season in the League of Ireland First Division.
“It’s a pleasure to re-sign for Kerry FC ahead of the 2024 season,” he said, speaking to the club’s media team.
“I can’t wait to get back out playing in front of the fans in Mounthawk Park and to hopefully pick up a few more wins that our supporters deserve.
I’m very much looking forward to the new season and meeting you all again once the games are back underway.”
Head Coach Conor McCarthy was pleased to secure the teenager ahead of the 2024 season.
“We’re delighted to re-sign Sean for 2024. Sean had an excellent first season in the League of Ireland and last season will stand to him going forward,” McCarthy said.
“He’s got huge potential to be one of the best full-backs in the league and we’re looking forward to having him back in for the new season and seeing how he progresses throughout the year.”
