Heeney commits to sixth season with Drogheda United
Luke Heeney has signed a new deal with Drogheda United which will take him into his sixth season with the club.
The versatile 24 year old made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Boynesiders last season.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be back for another year,” Heeney said, speaking to the club’s website.
“There is a great buzz around the club and the town at the moment and I’m just really looking forward to hopefully another successful year and improving on last year.
“Going into my sixth year is a bit mad. It’s just gone by so quickly but I have really loved every minute of it.
“It means everything to me. I love playing for this club. It’s given me so many great nights and memories down through the years and hopefully there are many more to come over the next year.”
Heeney joined Drogheda from St Patrick’s Athletic in 2019 and has made 119 appearances during his five seasons with the club.
